VJ Art
Michael Fawkner, ed.,
Audio-visual art and VJ Culture,
large format paperback + DVD,
Laurence King
One area of art that has been developing
over recent times is the art of the VJ. The
development of reasonably cheap tools has
spurred things on just as it has with music
and amateur movie making, although movie
making for a bigger screen is still an
expensive business.
This book goes through a comprehensive
list of VJs from an assortment of geographical
areas. There are examples of their works as
stills in the book as well as DVD where you
can get a better idea of what's going on.
Needless to say, being a Laurence King book,
the presentation is very well done.
Another interesting aspect is that there
are pages of setup and equipment information.
which might inspire a few people to get out
there and do the next bit.
You can see some excerpts here.
